The Legacy Society

Deciding to leave a gift to your community through your will is one of the most important decisions you will make. The Central Susquehanna Community Foundation’s Legacy Society is designed to provide recognition to those individuals who have made the thoughtful decision to leave a donation through the Foundation in their will. The Foundation honors and thanks our current Legacy Society members:
C Kenneth Battram, Robert Buehner, Jr., John & Janice DeFinnis, Eric DeWald, Charles M. & Nancy C. Eves, Fritz Heinemann, Dale & Ferne Krothe, Edna McBride, Deborah Force-Moore, Holly Morrison, William Shultz, Patricia Torsella, Albert J. & Stephanie J. Steward, and Freddie Bittenbender.
Your bequest can take many forms. It can be designated to benefit one particular nonprofit organization, or it can be divided among several. Preferably, you will design your contribution so that it leaves a lasting legacy. Examples of permanent funds that can be established using your contribution are designated beneficiary funds, scholarship funds, field-of-interest funds, field-of-interest funds, or unrestricted funds.
The Legacy Society will be made up of all those who have notified us that they have included the Foundation in their estate planning, regardless of the amount or the type of fund intended. This can include bequests, insurance policies, annuities, trusts, and other planned gifts that will benefit the Foundation’s efforts and support organizations in your community.
Members of the Legacy Society have the special satisfaction that comes with knowing that they are helping to make the world a better place, by providing much needed resources for our community’s future. Their decision is one that will continue to make a difference in perpetuity, helping future generations to take care of those less fortunate and to ensure continued opportunities in areas such as education, the arts, health and human services, religion, and youth and children.
Through the Legacy Society of the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation, your thoughtful and generous decision will be duly recognized and by so doing, it will encourage others to give as well. Of course, if you would prefer to remain anonymous, we will certainly honor that request.
We hope that you have taken, or that you will take, the action necessary to become a member of the Legacy Society and thereby leave a legacy of caring for your community.
All you need to do is to share this important decision with us by completing a simple form. To receive a copy of the form, please send an e-mail message to edewald@csgiving.org or call the foundation office at 752-3930. We look forward to welcoming you to the Legacy Society.
