The Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation is celebrating more than 15 years of giving grants and scholarships to residents of Snyder County.  What started in 1994 as a community endowment by the Selinsgrove Rotary Club, has become a wide-reaching source of funds for projects that benefit the area’s youth.

With more than $350,000 in endowed assets, the Youth Foundation is the largest source of scholarships for high school students in the Selinsgrove Area School District.  In addition its grants support many programs such as Junior Achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Summer Seals Day Camp, East Snyder Park and the Selinsgrove Area Recreational Pool.

From July 2009 through June 2010 the Youth Foundation awarded more than $24,000 in grants and scholarships to local non-profit organizations and students from its endowed and pass-through funds.
