Selinsgrove Area Youth Foundation

Who we are
The Selinsgrove Area Youth Foundation (SAYF) was founded in 1994 as a community endowment started by the Selinsgrove Rotary Club. We exist to improve the quality of life for youth in the greater Selinsgrove area. Our investments focus on post secondary scholarships and healthy recreational opportunities. SAYF is goverened by an all volunteer board deeply committed to serving the area's education, recreational and charitable needs for youth. The foundation is a philanthropic resource that enables a persons, businesses and institutions to make gifts that will change lives during formitable years.

What we do and how we do it
Each year four academic and/or vocational college bound students from Selinsgrove Area High School receive scholarships equal to $1,000 per year. The SAYF has supported many community organizations including Kidsgrove, Summer Seals Day Camp, Selinsgrove Library, Snyder County Midget Football, Eastern Snyder County Little League, improvements to the Selinsgrove High School athletic fields and the East Snyder Park. SAYF's endowment is invested, and earnings from the fund act as permanent source of community capital, helping to do good work today and in the future. Due to the success of the SAYF, we affiliated with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation to provide financial, investment and administrative services for continued growth.

Why it matters and how you can help
Life quality here in our own community is a shared responsibility as well as our legacy. Our obligation is to assure that the opportunities we want our youth to enjoy will continue for generations to come. your contribution can be in any of several forms: a direct monetary gift; gifts of appreciated stock and assets; or a bequest outlined in a will. The affiliation with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation provides additional planned giving options such as charitable gift annuities, real estate and other complex gifts. If you would like to find out more about making a contribution to the SAYF, please call 1.866.454.6692 to get in contact with one of our board members.
